Using the VerityLaw Client Portal

This page shows portal users how to review their matters, documents, invoices, messages, and compliance status without expecting internal admin features.

Product: VerityLaw
Module: Portal
Role: Client, external stakeholder, support staff helping portal users
Difficulty: Beginner

Before You Start

  • Sign in with a portal account, not an internal admin account.
  • Know the case or organisation you expect to see.

What is the portal?

The portal gives clients a controlled view of their own matters and shared records. In plain English, it is the client window into VerityLaw, not the back-office control room.

When do you use this?

Use the portal when you need to review shared cases, download documents, read invoices, send secure messages, or submit a client-facing compliance request. If you need to create internal records or run trust operations, you are in the wrong place.

Where do you find things in the portal?

How to use the portal

Review a case

  1. Open Cases.
  2. Select the correct matter.
  3. Read the case reference and title carefully.
  4. Review status, priority, assigned lawyer, and deadline.
  5. Review linked documents.
  6. Use Messages when you need to communicate with the legal team.

Review documents

  1. Open Documents.
  2. Confirm you are looking at the correct matter.
  3. Download or review only the files relevant to that matter.

Review invoices

  1. Open Invoices.
  2. Confirm the invoice belongs to your organisation.
  3. Use the detail view if available.

Send a secure message

  1. Open Messages.
  2. Select the correct case thread.
  3. Type the message clearly.
  4. Check that you are discussing the correct matter.
  5. Send the message.

Use compliance

  1. Open Compliance.
  2. Review the compliance score or summary shown.
  3. Review pending obligations and active DSRs if displayed.
  4. Submit a data subject request if that action is available to you.

What if you expect more than the portal is meant to do?

"I want to manage admin settings or trust accounting from the portal"

Why this happens: The portal is a controlled client-facing surface, not the internal operating workspace.

Fix: Ask an internal user to handle the admin task in admin.
